Valid means the address passes syntax checks, uses a real-looking domain structure, is not from a known disposable-email provider, and does not look like a typo of a major provider. No connection to any mail server is made.
Why do you not check if the mailbox actually exists?
Mailbox-existence checks require sending probe messages to mail servers — which means transmitting every address in your list to a third-party service and announcing to recipients’ providers that you are verifying them. We deliberately stay offline: all checks are local heuristics, so your list never leaves your device.
What counts as “risky”?
Risky addresses are syntactically fine but statistically problematic — role-based mailboxes like info@, admin@, or support@ that often route to many people (or nobody), and free consumer domains when you are targeting business contacts.
Can it catch typos like gmial.com?
Yes. The validator compares each domain against a curated list of major providers using edit distance and flags close misses such as gmial.com, hotmial.com, or yaho.com, suggesting the likely correct domain.
